Yellowstone Flight Directions :

(Going) San Diego -> Salt Lake City (via) -> Jackson Hole

(Coming) Jackson Hole -> Salt Lake City (1 night due to Delta disruption) -> Las Vegas (2 nights) -> San Diego

Yellowstone lodging and rental car transfers :

1 night in Jackson (Marriott*) -> 2 nights at Canyon Village Cabin (4 beds) + Inn (2 beds) -> 2 nights at Old Faithful Snow Lodge Cabin (4 beds) + Old Faithful Inn (2 beds)

Cabins must be booked 1 year in advance (Canyon 2 nights about $800, Old Faithful 2 nights about $600)

Inns are booked 1 month in advance for additional guests

Atmospheric Jackson Marriott Expensive, but close to water, food, and transportation in downtown Jackson.

Day 1: Arrive at Jackson Hole Airport in the afternoon and explore downtown Jackson.

Second day, hike up to Titan National Park, stop at Hayden Valley to see animals, check into Canyon Village, very nice.

Teton National Park on the way to Yellowstone is truly picturesque beyond words.

The day goes by quickly when you're traveling from viewpoint to viewpoint.

I highly recommend adding a day in Teton to your itinerary any way you can!

Double room at the Canyon Village Inn (INN), very clean as the village itself is new.

Canyon Village Cabin Feel like you're in the woods, no refrigerator/microwave, so you'll need to bring an electric pot or something to make instant noodles.

Vibes like a bear coming out of a window

This is how the cabins are distributed

Day 3 After 1 night in Canyon Village, headed north to Tower Falls/Tower River, then northwest to Mammoth Hot Springs and town, then north from there to Gardner, Montana for lunch and to see Roosevelt Arch, etc., but it kept raining, so we hung out at the Mammoth Albright Visitor Center* before heading back to Canyon Village.

* Failure here, should have ignored the rain and gone northeast to Lamar Valley to see the animals. This is the best way to go,

On day four, check out and head to the Old Faithful area to see Lower and Upper Falls, Yellowstone Lake, Westsome, and more from the Geiser Silk Road. Front door of the historic Old Faithful Inn

It's festive and loud inside, a Yellowstone signature lodging.

Clean 2-person room for its age, but 1.5 times the price of a cabin (4-person) due to last-minute booking.

The counter informs you of the geyser eruption time.

Of course, you can also see the national park in the official website

Side view of the Old Faithful Snow Lodge

Neat inside. However, the snow cabins are much more disappointingly dated than the Canyon Village cabins.

The only upside is that they have a refrigerator.

My wife said it was too cold in Canyon Village, so she's glad it's warmer here.

Old Faithful Inn is 10 minutes away, so it's close.

No one took pictures of the cabin because it was shabby.

Day 5 was all Geiser, from Old Faithful Geiser to Grand Prismatic and other areas north of Mammoth, then back to Haydn Valley to see the animals in the evening (11pm).

Day 6: Checked out of Jackson Hole airport at 9am for a 1:25pm flight and stopped for coffee in Jackson Village along the way.

And then I met Daran from Delta.
